Seeking Volunteers for International Migratory Bird Day, May 7th from 10am-3pm.

FNA is looking for volunteers for May 7th's Bird Bonanza celebrating International Migratory Bird Day!  The event will take place at the Fontenelle Forest Nature Center.  Click the link below if you want to help and have received training as a teacher-naturalist.  The opportunities available range from critter encounters to interactive stations.  A description is listed for each opportunity.

Click the link below if you want to help with kids' crafts and activities.  You will be interacting with children and parents however no teacher-naturalist training is required.

Other events which will not require volunteer help include: The "Mysteries of Bird Migration" presentation by birding pro Rick Schmid. Meet live migrating raptors with Raptor Recovery Nebraska. Tern and Plover Conservation Partnership featuring Pebbles, a giant piping plover! U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Missouri River Recovery Program. Learn bird feeding tips from the pros at Wild Birds Unlimited.

As a reminder, all future FNA volunteers must submit an application, waiver form, and submit to a background check a minimum of one week prior to the event (current volunteers already have this information on file).  Please contact me if you have any questions at all.  See you there!
